Learning STEM’s from Play
Early Childhood Educators play such an important role in inspiring children’s interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Learning through movement has been shown to increase children’s comprehension and I support their natural curiosity. Many activities that focus on general play can be enhanced to incorporate STEM topics and support children’s natural desire to ask questions and learn from the environment around them. In this session we will talk about how to adapt general lesson to incorporate movement and you will walk away with new physical play activities that align with the math and science Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.
